Listing syndicator Point2 Technologies, the syndicator recommended by the Pensacola Association of REALTORS®, says it's giving real estate brokerages and multiple listing services more control over how their listings data is used by publishers like Zillow, Trulia and HomeFinder.com.
A new listings distribution policy from the industry's second-largest real estate listings syndication platform strictly limits what publishers can do with data they get, and challenges the business models of some.
The Department has received information indicating our license holders are being targeted by a potential identity theft scam.
A real estate broker recently received an unsolicited email claiming his brokers’ licenses were the subject of disciplinary action from an entity posing as the Department. The broker was directed to call a toll-free number and provide personal identification information to a person who was allegedly a Department investigator. Upon further investigation, the Department has determined this email communication is in no way connected with the Department or its regulatory authority.
The names were changed to minimize confusion because Florida Realtors® no longer uses the FAR acronym that referred to Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR).
The CRSP-12 looks very similar to the FAR-9 – many of the changes are minor. However, one noteworthy change was made to the CRSP-12: The seller’s warranty regarding permit-related items has been deleted, and now the buyer must provide written notification to the seller – before the end of the inspection period – what permit-related items the seller must remedy.

In the 1800s, wetlands covered more than half of Florida. Today, wetlands only comprise about 30 percent of the state. Over the last 50 years, science has shown that wetlands perform vital environmental functions including natural water treatment, aquifer recharge, flood control and provide wildlife habitat. Today, we know effective protection of wetlands is essential to the future of Florida’s environment and economy.

If you have filed a claim with the Gulf Coast Claims Facility as a business, please be sure to check your claim status. Some Realtors have found that, although they filed as a business, the GCCF system shows them as an individual. Realtors may even receive a form in the mail directing them to change their status from “Business” to “Individual.”
If you have a received this notice or discover that your status has been changed, you should contact the GCCF. The number is 1-800-916-4893. PAR has been advised by Realtors that the GCCF can manually change your status from “Individual” BACK to “Business”.
At the REALTORS Legislative Days event in Tallahassee on April 13th, Senator Gaetz reported that the Consumer Products Service Commission voted to approve two remediation processes (as alternatives to a complete home rewire) for those homes with aluminum wiring. These were previously approved by Citizens Insurance Co. in a March 16th Bulletin to insurance agents. In addition, State Farm’s Attorney, Mark Delegal, stated that State Farm will also consider aluminum wiring to be insurable risks upon the application of remediation procedures approved by the CPSC. This is a big step toward easing our aluminum wire problem. Hopefully other companies will follow soon.
